a) In your own words, define Internet of Things

        Internet of Things is the connection of objects through Internet that enables them to exchange and collect data. In current times, we can find them in almost anything from our phones to the synthetic organ transplants being developed today.

b) What brought this theory about?
 
           This theory was developed when the need to retain information arose about 2 decades ago. Kevin Ashton explained IoT in a presentation he made in 1999 that humans contributed majority of the information we have but humans are temporary and thus the need for computers to store those data.

c) Do you like the concept of IoT ? Why or why not?

        For me it's a bit of positive and negative outlook on the concept of IoT. IoT is really helpful because it connects things far from each other and it stores the information we make now for the future generation but it's also a bit scary to think that a machine might replace human interaction.

d) In what situations do you encounter IoT in the Philippines?

                       First of all, when we use Internet or Wi-Fi we connect ourselves to the world. Another is when we shop online and order online like Lazada and Amazon. When we use our smart appliances like TVs, Refrigerators, Ovens etc. we sometimes connect them to the system of the house.

e) How do you think IoT will evolve and affect Filipino society in the next 3 to 5 years?
 
       I think IoT will help the future Filipino Society 3 to 5 years from now to be more advanced in the field of technology, increase the rate at which information is spread and it will help the society be aware of its surroundings because of the available information then.

f) What do you think is the relationship / cause and effect of IoT in media and information literacy?

                  I think IoT will further improve media and information literacy in the future because it is connecting Traditional and New Media and with proper direction it can make achieving Media and Information Literacy easier.
